the painting

ver 1.0. of this site features "the dragon devouring the companions of cadmus", by hendrick goltzius. the hatching is incredible, and i couldn't stop thinking about this piece after i first saw it.

i think this engraving (engraving!! can you imagine the time it took!!) serves as a nice, classical piece to prime the visitor of this site in what to expect herein.
